My magic pen

July 30, 2008

Have you ever recorded a sermon?  Unless you take very good notes, the process of reviewing any audio recording is very tedious. You scan forwards and backwards trying to find the part where your pastor lists the Gifts of the Spirit, then give up and write something about Easter Eggs.

At Glorious Life we’ve been trying to find a practical way to summarize the pastor’s sermons so that we can include “liner notes” with the audio CDs we offer.

Well God may have sent us a solution! A targeted ad on Facebook spotted me and immediately turned me on to the Pulse smart pen. You write (on special paper), the Pulse records, then, when it’s time to review, you tap the pen on any of your notes to hear what was said when you wrote those notes.

Take a moment to think about that.  What if you could always return to the context of your notes and get an instant replay?  The clever link between your written notes and your pastor’s oration makes the Pulse a real breakthrough.

First assignment:  recording notes from next Sunday’s sermon. I’ll post them.

UPDATE: Here is the recording / notes I promised – “God is in Your Mess” by Pastor Al Hill of Glorious Life Church in Derby, KS, Aug 3, 2008.
